Arcyriatella congregata is a species of slime mold from the order of the Trichiida and the only species of the genus Arcyriatella . She is only known from Brazil.

description

The dark brown fruiting bodies are pseudo-ethers with pendulous stems . The peridium, which is declining on the top but survives at the base in the form of a shell, is iridescent in color. The abundant capillitium is ocher in color and resembles that of the genus Arcyria by thickening along the axis and at the ends. The capillitium threads are small and hollow. The spores aggregated to three to six, rarely up to ten, have a diameter of 10 to 12 micrometers.

distribution

The species is known only from a few collections from São Paulo , Brazil, where it was found on dead wood.

Systematics and research history

Species and genus were first described in 1989 by Elke Hochgesand and Gerhard Karl Gottsberger .
