Ardyth Alton
Ardyth Alton (born October 3, 1916 in Cherokee / Iowa ; † December 27, 2007 ) was an American cellist and music teacher.
Alton studied music at the Oberlin Conservatory and took summer courses in Chautauqua. With the assistance of Albert Stoessel was in the postgraduate program of the Juilliard School added and received cello lessons with Felix Salmond and Leonard Rose . She gave concerts and became a member of Eugenie Dengel's trio The Hotel . From 1968 she taught cello at the Precollege and the College of the Juilliard School. In addition to her daughter Ann Alton , her students also included Bion Tsang , Fred Lonberg-Holm , Nanette Koch and Jane Kim .
