Argile (also Argile & African Heat ) is a band with musicians from Africa, Asia and America, which is led by the German flautist Dieter Weberpals from Nuremberg.

The group has existed as a band since 1988. Before that, two LPs were released under the name Argile of a previous project that existed as an ethno-jazz duo or trio from 1980 to 1988.

The group was formed in the context of the musician cooperative Snowball , from which the bands Embryo and Dissident also come. Argile are recognized worldwide as one of the most renowned world music bands from Germany. They toured all over Europe, at many major festivals and also gave concerts in West Africa. There they played concerts for the Goethe-Instituts in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and Lomé (Togo) as well as in clubs. The Franken Medienwerkstatt shot a TV report about the tour. Dieter Weberpals and Abdoul Aziz Sinka from Burkina Faso performed at the Festico Festival in Bobo Dioulasso 2014 with the band project Collectif Foli: Argile-Lanaya .

Argile played with a variety of well-known guest musicians, including Famadou Konate , Oumou Sangaré , Houssaine Kili , Sona Diabaté , Djanka Diabate, Ramesh Shotham and Barry Sangare.
