Argynnos
Argynnos ( ancient Greek Ἄργυννος ) was, according to the Greek legend, a Boiotic lover of Agamemnon . Another lover of Argyynus was Hymenaius .
Argynnos was a son of Peisidike , daughter of Leukon and granddaughter of Athamas . When the Greek fleet gathered in the port of Aulis before heading to Troy , Agamemnon left the army and saw Argynnos bathing on the river Kephisus , with whom he fell in love. After he drowned in the river, he buried him and built a temple of Aphrodite Argynnis at the grave , which was called Argunis (Ἀργουνίς) in the Boiotic dialect.
