The name means lion or collector in Hebrew . The word is derived from the verb collect ( Hebrew ארה). In the Old Testament ( 2 Kings 15.25  ELB ) a personality with this name is listed (although it is probably not clear whether it is a member of the court of King Petachja or a leader in the army of his successor Pekach ).
