Arild Hausberg (born July 19, 1955 ) is a Norwegian politician of the Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). From 2007 to 2011 he was mayor of the northern Norwegian city ​​of Tromsø .

Life

Arild Hausberg comes from Bergen . As an engineer, he has worked for Troms Kraft , an electricity company from Tromsø that operates twelve hydropower plants, since 1979 . Most recently he was the head of the operations center.

Political career

From 2001 to 2008 Arild Hausberg was deputy chairman of the Arbeiderpartiet in the province of Troms . He was a member of Tromsø City Council for four legislative terms, and from 2003 to 2007 he was the head of the Youth Committee. From 2005 he was parliamentary group leader of the Arbeiderpartiet in the local council. In addition, from 2003 to 2007 he was a member of the Fylkesting , the provincial parliament of the province of Troms.

From 2007 to 2011 he was Mayor of Tromsø as the successor to Herman Kristoffersen (Ap), who no longer ran for a new term. Jens Johan Hjort ( Høyre ) succeeded Arild Hausberg as mayor in Tromsø .
