Aristyllos
Aristyllos was an astronomer from Samos . He was active around 300 BC. In Alexandria, Egypt .
Aristyllos was the first Greek astronomer who is reported to have attempted (with Timocharis of Alexandria ) to locate the fixed stars . His lost work “About the Fixed Stars” was used by Hipparchus and Ptolemy .
The moon crater Aristillus is named after him.
