Aristillus is an impact crater on the front of the moon in the level of the Mare Imbrium , between the Montes Caucasus on its eastern edge and the Montes Spitzbergen in the west. To the south-west lies the large Archimedes crater , in between the area of ​​the Mare Imbrium called Sinus Lunicus . To the northwest lie the Theaetetus and Cassini craters .

The pronounced, conspicuous crater has a terraced wall and a central massif with three peaks. The radiation system emanating from the crater extends over 600 km.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek astronomer Aristyllos .
