Arje Nechemkin
Arje Nechemkin ( Hebrew אריה נחמקין; * November 2, 1925 in Nahalal ) is a former Israeli politician.
Life
From 1943 to 1948 he was a member of the Haganah . During the Israeli War of Independence in 1948, he served in the IDF , earning the rank of lieutenant colonel . From 1959 to 1960 he was a member of the economic committee of the Israeli settlement movement Tnu'at HaMoschawim ( Hebrew תנועת המושבים). He was head of his economic department between 1965 and 1967. He then became secretary of the Israeli settlement movement between 1970 and 1981. In 1981 he was elected to the Knesset as a member of HaMa'arach . He was confirmed in the 1984 elections and was Minister of Agriculture from September 13, 1984 to December 22, 1988 . He lost his seat in the 1988 elections.
