Arkiv for Dansk Literature

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Arkiv for Dansk Litteratur (ADL) is a comprehensive and freely accessible library and web archive for classical Danish literature , containing text and facsimile editions from a long line of important older Danish writers. The texts can be searched and downloaded .

ADL's website was developed in collaboration with Det Kongelige Bibliotek and Det Danske Sprog- og Litteraturselskab (DSL). The main page was opened in Lenz 2002 as part of a five-year project with the support of Danmarks Elektroniske Fag- og Forskningsbibliotek (DEFF, Denmark's Electronic Specialized and Research Library). ADL is continuously maintained and updated.

content

ADL's content extends chronologically from Saxo Grammaticus (12th century) to Gustaf Munch-Petersen (deceased 1938 ) as the newest writer. In 2008, eight writers were added to the original selection, bringing the total to 78. The number of pages is 167,000.

The writers are chosen by the DSL, which also selected the standard editions of the works.

All ADL copywriters can be called up in facsimile and PDF versions, and most of them in OCR- generated, searchable text output. The page is enhanced by other resources such as sheet music and manuscripts.

copyright

Due to a clause in the Danish Copyright Act , ADL can only provide access to texts by authors who died more than 70 years ago. Among the next expected writers to appear in ADL are Marie Bregendahl in 2010 and Henrik Pontoppidan in 2013 .
