Arline Hunter

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Arline Hunter (born December 16, 1931 ) is an American film actress and a pin-up girl.

Career

The photo model Arline Hunter worked from 1948 in some undemanding B-productions as a supporting actress, for example in the erotic short film The Apple-Knockers and the Coke (alternative title: The Girl, the Coke and the Apple ). This film caused a stir in later years when it was falsely claimed that the young Marilyn Monroe was the actress. In the 1950s and 1960s, Hunter shot numerous films with stars such as Mamie van Doren , the Three Stooges and Gerald Mohr and took part in popular TV programs. However, she never made her breakthrough as an actress. Her successful career as a model benefited from her resemblance to Marilyn Monroe. In 1954 she was Playmate of the Month in the August issue of Playboy and her photo graced the cover of various magazines such as Nugget (1956) and Adam (1958).

Arline Hunter now lives withdrawn in California and rarely appears in public.
