The Arlington Baths Club is a swimming club based in the Scottish city ​​of Glasgow . He uses the bathing establishment of the same name, which was included in the Scottish monument lists in 1986, initially in category B. The upgrade to the highest monument category A took place in 2013.

The first indoor swimming pool in Glasgow opened in 1804. Swimming enjoyed increasing popularity in the city, especially in the second half of the 19th century. On August 1, 1871, the Arlington Baths Club, probably the first private swimming club in the United Kingdom, opened in Glasgow. It was aimed primarily at the growing middle class in the prosperous city. In 1875 the association already had 600 members. Due to its popularity, numerous other swimming clubs opened in the city in the following decade. Including the Western Baths Club .

The Scottish architect John Burnet provided the design for the building . A Turkish bath was added in 1875. In an increase by Andrew Myles in 1893 a reading room and a billiard room emerged. In 1902, parts of the north facade were redesigned by Benjamin Conner and the building was redesigned in 1940 by Alexander David Hislop .

The Arlington Baths Club is located on Arlington Street, northwest of central Glasgow. The building is designed in a classical style, but also shows neo-renaissance details . The centerpiece is the 21 meter long swimming pool with terrazzo . Original installations such as a trapezoid, gymnastic rings and brass information signs have been preserved. The open roof structure shows the wooden structure. The Turkish bath drains into a beehive-shaped roof with a cast iron fan.
