Hoftheile is the name of a deserted area in the urban area of Helmbrechts in the Upper Franconian district of Hof .

Hoftheile, also 12 Hoftheile or Hoffeld is, west of the national road 2195 between Helmbrechts and Volkmann green . At the level of the forest baths, a side path branches off on the opposite side of the road to Flurberg, which leads directly into the settlement area. The construction of the state road affected the desert area. Deposits on the fields to raise the entire area have changed the landscape. An archaeological excavation in 2004 under the direction of Wolfgang Tejkl unearthed traces of building with broken fragments and high medieval rubbish pits. In Seehof Palace as the seat of the central conservation authority numerous findings are documented. The hallways Hoftheile and Pfarrholz protrude far into the adjacent area of Schauenstein . The desert is protected as a ground monument D-4-5736-0020. Also settlement historically interesting the further west then deserted Hilker Reuth and the north to Grub . As part of the desert around Kleinschwarzenbach project , a map with explanations of the three desert areas was published in 2015.

There are no documented references to the individual settlement, and the settlement is not mentioned in the standard literature by Karl Dietel or Haberlah-Pohl. A single sales deed dates from 1481 under Margrave Albrecht Achilles . As a farm, the property was one of the parish foundations of Schauenstein. When, after the death of the last owner, Drechsel or Dressel, the property fell to the margrave, he handed it over to Helmbrechts. The term “12 Hoftheile” only emerged when the land of the desolate court was divided up among the twelve councilors of Helmbrechts. The previous owner was Kunz Topel.
