Arma's aikiä
Armas Äikiä (born March 14, 1904 in Pyhäjärvi, today's Otradnoje ; † November 20, 1965 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish author , communist writer and journalist , he wrote his books under the pseudonyms Ami Aarto, Viljo Veijo and Liukas Luikku. He also wrote the text of the anthem of the Karelo-Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic , for which Karl Rautio was responsible. He was one of the few refugees in the Soviet Union who could survive Stalin's terror against foreigners.
Childhood and youth
Äikiä was born in Pyhäjärvi as the son of the tailor Matti Äikiä and his wife Eeva Äikiä (née Koskinen). He left this place at the age of 19 to move to Helsinki, where he also joined the Communist Party of Finland and wrote articles for their newspapers Liekki , Itä ja Länsi and Tiedonantaja .
