Armgard (Rietberg)

ARMGARD Rietberg (also Irmgard or Ermengard * probably 1555 / 56 in Rietberg ; † 13. July 1584 ) was from 1565 to 1584 Countess of Rietberg .

She was the older of the two daughters of Johann II and Agnes von Bentheim and Steinfurt . She married Count Erich von Hoya on January 3, 1568 . In an inheritance division on September 27, 1576, Rietberg received her, her sister Walburgis the Harlingerland . After the death of her first husband, she married Simon VI on June 26, 1578 . to the lip .

Armgard died childless on July 13, 1584, and the county of Rietberg fell to her sister Walburgis, so that the county and Harlingerland were reunited in one hand.
