Armin Gessert

Armin Gessert (born June 13, 1963 ; † November 8, 2009 ) was a German developer of computer games. He became famous for the game The Great Giana Sisters .

Life

Armin Gessert has worked as a developer of computer games since 1984. Together with Manfred Trenz and Chris Hülsbeck, he programmed the game The Great Giana Sisters for the Commodore 64 in 1987 .

After initially working for Rainbow Arts and Blue Byte , he founded Spellbound Entertainment in 1994 , for which he worked as CEO until his death . On November 8, 2009, Gessert died of a heart attack at 12:30 a.m. He was 46 years old.

At the German Developer Award 2009 he was posthumously awarded a place in the Hall of Fame as the first German game developer to receive an award for his life's work.
