The Armstrong Peak is a 1,470 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It rises 15 miles southeast of Mount Codrington in the Napier Mountains .
Norwegian cartographers mapped it using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . They named him Austnuten (translated: East Summit ). Further aerial photos were taken in 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). The name given to the name, which is valid today, is the geodesist J. Christopher Armstrong, participant in ANARE 1956, who in December 1959 installed a star-oriented fixed point for surveying work in the area.
