Arnaldo D'Espósito

Arnaldo D'Espósito (born August 30, 1907 in La Boca / Buenos Aires ; † August 22, 1945 ibid) was an Argentine composer, pianist and conductor.

D'Espósito began his musical training with Ernesto Drangosch and Miguel Mastrogiovanni and continued it with Jorge de Lalewicz (piano), Athos Palma and Floro Ugarte (harmony) and Constantino Gaito (composition). He worked as a lecturer at the Conservatorio Nacional and conductor of the ballet performances at the Teatro Colón . He was awarded the Premio Municipal de Música of the city of Buenos Aires in 1937 and received twice the Premio Municipal de Ópera y Ballet and once the Premio de la Comisión Nacional de Cultura .

In addition to piano and chamber music works and songs, D'Espósito u. a. a symphonic poem, three ballets and the opera Lin Calel . An opera based on Lope de Vega and a mass remained unfinished.
