Arnd Festerling
Arnd Festerling (born March 5, 1961 in Bremen ) is a German journalist. From July 2012 to March 2019 he was editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau together with Bascha Mika .
Life
Festerling completed a traineeship at the community organization of Protestant journalism . At the Frankfurter Rundschau he initially worked as a sports editor and then held managerial positions in other departments, including eight years as head of the political / economic editorial team. Most recently, he was head of the Frankfurt city department and the Rhine-Main regional department. In 2012 he became editor-in-chief. He followed Uwe Vorkötter , who had previously been editor-in-chief of the Frankfurter Rundschau and Berliner Zeitung and as a consultant for digital projects on the board of the media group M. DuMont Schauberg , the majority shareholder ofFrankfurter Rundschau , changed. At the end of 2018, Festerling announced that he would be stepping down from his post as editor-in-chief in mid-2019 "to try something different again."
Award
In 2001 Festerling received the 2nd prize of the Guardian Prize of the German daily press for his coverage of the attempt to cover up a bomb attack by the US Air Force on a passenger train during the Kosovo war .
