Arndt von Haeseler

Arndt von Haeseler (born February 28, 1959 ) is a German bioinformatician .

Life

Arndt von Haeseler grew up in Bremen . Since 2005 he has been director of the Center for Integrative Bioinformatics at the Max F. Perutz Laboratories and at the same time Professor of Bioinformatics at the University of Vienna . From 2001 to 2005 he was professor for bioinformatics at the University of Düsseldorf . In 1994 he completed his habilitation in zoology at the University of Munich . He did his doctorate in 1988 with Andreas Dress at Bielefeld University and studied biology and mathematics at Marburg University .

Arndt von Haeseler is related to Gottlieb von Haeseler . His brother Friedrich von Haeseler is a mathematician .

In 2015, von Haeseler was elected a corresponding member in Germany of the mathematical and natural science class of the Austrian Academy of Sciences .

Since April 2017 von Haeseler has been the scientific director of the Max F. Perutz Laboratories in Vienna.

Act

Arndt von Haeseler deals with evolutionary biology, population genetics and family tree analyzes. It is one of the most cited evolutionary biologies in German-speaking countries.
