Arne (daughter of Aiolus)
Arne ( Greek Ἄρνη ) is the illegitimate daughter of Aiolos and a daughter of the Centaur Cheiron in Greek mythology . According to the Greek historian Diodorus Siculus , she had two sons, the god Poseidon , who were only born after Aiolos gave Arne Metapontios , the legendary founder of Metapontios , with him. The sons Aiolus and Boiotus were adopted by this man, but later killed his wife in a quarrel. Thereupon Arne fled to Greece with her sons. It was considered eponymous heroin of both the Thessalian Arnes and the Boeotian Arnes .
