Arne Dirks

Arne Dirks (* 1977 ) is a German sports manager . Until July 2020 he was managing director of Bamberger Basketball GmbH.

career

Dirks grew up in the Hanseatic City of Bremen  and completed a degree in business administration with a focus on marketing and strategic management at the University of Bremen and Oxford University in England . He worked in the field of rights purchasing for the sports rights marketing company Sportfive and advised the football club VfL Bochum . From 2005 to 2015 he was in the service of the Bundesliga basketball team Eisbären Bremerhaven : Dirks was responsible for marketing matters for the Eisbären until 2011 and from 2011 held the post of commercial director and authorized representative of the operating company of the Bundesliga team.

On July 1, 2015, he took up the post of Managing Director of Deutsche Volleyball Sport GmbH (DVS), the marketing company of the German Volleyball Association . Dirks brought the marketing and organization of the Techniker Beach Tour back into DVS, which from then on again organized the German Beach Volleyball Championships on its own.

In September 2018, basketball Bundesliga club Brose Bamberg announced Dirks' appointment as managing director of the license holder Bamberger Basketball GmbH from January 1, 2019. At the beginning of July 2020, the separation took place, for which personal reasons were given.
