Arne W. Pedersen (born September 7, 1917 in Copenhagen , Denmark , † July 11, 1959 in Esbjerg , Denmark) was a Danish cyclist .

In 1936 Arne W. Pedersen started at the Olympic Games in Berlin and finished fifth in the 1000-meter time trial . He took part in the Tour of Germany twice: in 1938 he was sixth in the overall ranking.

In 1938 Andersen became a professional and in the following years four times Danish champion in the singles pursuit . In this discipline he started in 1946 at the World Track Championships in Zurich and finished third.

Pedersen drove four six-day races and won that in Washington in 1948 with Emile Bruneau .

His real name was actually Arne Pedersen. According to one anecdote, Pedersen's father was said to have spent some time prospecting for gold in the United States, while his wife gave birth to a son. Her husband wrote to her that the boy should be baptized "Withlove". The brother died at the age of 21. Since there were several Arne Pedersens in Danish cycling, Arne took the "W." to distinguish them and to remember his brother. However, in some sources his name is given as Arne-Werner Pedersen.
