Arno Ziemann

Arno Ziemann (born December 6, 1941 ) is a former German soccer player. In 1961 he played for the BSG Lokomotive Stendal in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

In the 1960 season (calendar year season) the 18-year-old Arno Ziemann played his first games for the 1st team of the company sports community (BSG) Lokomotive Stendal. This was relegated from the league in the preseason and had to compete in the second-rate GDR league in 1960 . Ziemann completed nine of the 26 games in the league and scored one goal. After Stendal had managed to get promoted again, coach Werner Wagner plannedfor the league season 1961/62 (return to the autumn-spring season) Ziemann as a defender and also used him in the first three league games. There were then three more attempts as a substitute, after which Ziemann was no longer used in the league. For the next season he no longer appeared in the Stendal squad. During the 1963/64 season, Arno Ziemann appeared with a GDR league assignment at BSG Turbine Magdeburg . After that, he was no longer represented in higher-class football.
