Arnold Esich

Arnold Esich also Arnd (t) Esick (* 1501 in Bremen ; † August 8, 1547 in Bremen) was a Bremen councilor and Bremen mayor .

Esich was the son of councilor Henrich Esich (1475-1533) and Wommele (Wommelia) child. A number of Bremen councilors and mayors come from the Esich family and the Bremen Essighaus (also Esich House ) from 1618 was named after the family.
He was since 1533 Bremer councilor and since 1539 Mayor of Bremen , as after his brother Elert Esich .
In 1540, Emperor Charles V invited the representatives of the old and the new doctrine to religious talks in the imperial city of Hagenau . Esich and the two councilors Johann Havemann and Heinrich Trupe were the representatives of Bremen at the preparatory meeting of the Protestant party in Schmalkalden .

He was married to Elisabeth Esich, geb. Laue or Löwen (* 1505), and with Elisabeth Esich, b. Vinklis. Her daughter was Tibbeke Esich (1527–1567). His son was the merchant Johann (IX.) Esich (?).
