Elert Esich

Elert Esich (* around 1508 in Bremen ; † 20th December 1554 ibid ) was a Bremer councilor and mayor of Bremen .

Esich the son of Councilman He (i) NRICH Esich (1475-1533) and Wommele child was (t) and brother of Johann I Esich . A number of Bremen councilors and mayors come from the Esich family and the Bremen Essighaus (also Esich-Haus) from 1618 was named after the family.

He studied in Lutherstadt Wittenberg at the Alma Mater Leucorea . He had been a councilor of Bremen since 1547 and, like his brother Arnold Esich, mayor of Bremen since 1548 . In 1553 and 1554 he was a council messenger at the Hanseatic Days in Lübeck.

He was married to Mette Esich, geb. von Borken (* 1504).
