Arnold Matiisen (born July 17, 1906 in Tallinn , Estonia , † September 18, 1992 in Edmonton , Canada ) was an Estonian football and volleyball player .

Career

Arnold Matiisen played in his football career of which only the year 1926 is known; for the JK Tallinna Kalev from the Estonian capital Tallinn . In the same year he ran on in an international match of the Estonian national football team against Sweden . Alongside Artur Maurer and Helmuth Räästas, he was one of three debutants who were used for the national selection in a 7-1 defeat at the Kadrioru stadium in Tallinn.

Later years

In 1937 Arnold Matiisen emigrated to Canada with his wife Salme . His brother Alfred Matiisen had already emigrated there in 1929. They settled in the Edmonton borough of Eckville Ward in 1940 .
