Arnold Nicolai Aasheim (born June 17, 1749 in Bergen , † July 10, 1800 in Copenhagen ) was a Norwegian doctor and physicist .

Life

Aasheim was the son of the police officer Stephen Aasheim and his wife Barbara Arentz.

He studied medicine and astronomy at the University of Copenhagen and graduated in medicine in 1776 with the Dr. med. from.

In 1782 he received a professorship in medicine at the University of Copenhagen. In 1795, after the death of Christian Gottlieb Kratzenstein, he was appointed to the chair for experimental physics , but continued to give medical lectures.
