Arnold Ruffieux

Arnold Ruffieux (* 1843 in Freiburg im Üechtland ; † March 10, 1872 ibid) was a Swiss politician and State Chancellor of the Canton of Friborg . He was a member of the Conservative Party.

Life

Von Freiburg and Broc , his father was Jean-Joseph Ruffieux (1806-1885), a staunch liberal, editor of L'Ami du Progrès, who took part in the political struggles after 1830 and worked as a teacher in Freiburg , Delsberg , Bern and St. Louis (USA) operates. Jean-Joseph Ruffieux became a councilor in 1856, director of the penitentiary in 1857 and then school inspector. Arnold's brother Emile (1857-1919) worked as a businessman in Lausanne and Chile . Arnold Ruffieux was a colonel in the artillery (1906).

Arnold Ruffieux became provisional secretary in 1864 and permanent secretary in 1865 for the Interior Directorate. He was Vice Chancellor from March 1869 to May 1871, after which he was appointed State Chancellor, but died unexpectedly on March 10, 1872.
