successes

Arnoud van der Biesen took part in the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp with Petrus Beukers in their 12-foot dinghy Boreas . They won the first race on July 7th against the only opposing boat, the Beatrijs III , whose crew consisted of Cornelis , Johan and Frans Hin . During the second race on July 8th, one of the course buoys drifted off, which is why the race was canceled. As the Belgian organizers could not repeat the race this week, they asked the Dutch Olympic Committee to organize two replacement races in the Netherlands on September 3rd, as both boats were made up of Dutch crews. These then took place on the Buiten-IJ : the Hin family initially managed to equalize 1: 1 in the repetition of the second race and defeated the Boreas von der Biesen and Beukers in the third race, which won them the silver medal.
