Arnside is a place and a civil parish in Cumbria , England with 2301 inhabitants (2001). The place is located at the mouth of the River Kent in the northeast corner of Morecambe Bay within the Arnside and Silverdale Area of ​​Outstanding Natural Beauty .

The place is on the Furness Line of the railway from Lancaster to Barrow-in-Furness , which crosses the River Kent on a viaduct at Arnside . The port of Arnside silted up when the viaduct was built.

On the southern edge of the town near the Arnside Knott , a small mountain that overlooks the town, is the Arnside Tower . The Arnside Tower was probably built in the 15th century as a fortified residential tower ( Peel Tower ) and is now a Grade II protected monument.
