Arpiné Rahdjian (* in Vienna ) is an Austrian soprano .

life and career

Arpiné Rahdjian studied solo singing with KS Josef Hopferwieser at the Vienna Conservatory , where she also graduated with distinction from the opera class. Studies with Patricia Wise, Walter Berry and Christa Ludwig followed. Since 2004 she has been working regularly with Mirella Freni in their academy in Italy.

After she sang the role of Micaela in Carmen at the styriarte festival under Nikolaus Harnoncourt in 2005 , she also started her international career as Micaela at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin.

Performances with the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble under Thomas Hengelbrock took her to the Salzburg Festival in 2006, where she made her debut with the role of Tamiris in Il re pastore , to the Feldkirch Festival, to the Bonn Opera and to the music festival in Bremen with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to Pittsburgh and Cleveland, with the European Chamber Orchestra under Nikolaus Harnoncourt to the festival styriarte in Graz in Austria, with the Staatskapelle Berlin under Dan Ettinger to the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden , with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra under Ralf Weikert to Hamburg, with the Viennese Symphony Orchestra under Bertrand de Billy at the Theater an der Wien and with the Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Bellini under Stefano Ranzani in Catania.

In January 2007 she made her debut as Donna Elvira at the Opéra National de Paris, in May 2007 in the Düsseldorf Tonhalle with Leonard Bernstein's Kaddish Symphony under Marcus Bosch. In August 2007 she sang in the Messa da Requiem under Alexander Joel. In the 2008/09 season she sang the role of Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus , in November and December she sang again in the Messa da Requiem by Verdi a. a. with Gustav Kuhn. At the beginning of 2009 she gave gala concerts in Kuala Lumpur in the Petronas Philharmonic Hall, made her debut at the Graz Opera House successfully as Mimì in La Bohème , and in September sang the 1st soprano solo / Magna Peccatrix in Mahler's 8th Symphony under Stefan Blunier at the Beethoven Festival in Bonn, was the new Rosalinde at the Graz Opera in November and made her debut there in December 2009 as Eva in Wagner's opera Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg . In summer 2011 she sang Eva in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg under Gustav Kuhn and made her debut as Elisabeth in Tannhäuser at the Tyrolean Festival, in September 2011 at the South Tyrolean Festival as Otello in Rossini's " Otello " under Gustav Kuhn. 2012-2015 the singer had to interrupt her career.

Prizes and awards

  • 2005 First prize in the Mirella Freni "L'Opera Italiana" competition as part of a one-year master class
  • 2002 First prize in the 21st International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in the field of operetta.
  • Special prizes from the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and Baden, the Vienna Chamber Opera for the best stage presence and the prize for the best Austrian singer in the competition.

Publications

The live recording of Carmen with Ralf Weikert in Hamburg and the opening premiere of the 2006 Salzburg Festival Il re Pastore under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock were released on DVD .
