Arrigo Serato

Arrigo Serato (born November 7, 1877 in Bologna , † December 27, 1948 in Rome ) was an Italian violinist and music teacher.

The son of cellist Francesco Serato studied violin with Francesco Sarti until 1894 . He began his career in 1895 with a concert tour to Berlin, where he met Joseph Joachim and Ferruccio Busoni , and to Vienna; later he also appeared in the USA. From 1915 he taught violin at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. From 1925 he appeared in a trio with Ildebrando Pizzetti and Enrico Mainardi and with the Trio Italiano (with Renzo Lorenzoni and Arturo Bonucci ). From 1932 he parted ways with concerts and gave summer courses at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana .
