The Arroyo Pintado Grande is a river in northern Uruguay .
It rises in the area of the Department Artigas in the Cuchilla Yacaré Cururú a few kilometers south of the department capital Artigas near the Tres Cerros del Catalán . From there it flows in a predominantly northerly direction partly parallel to the east running Ruta 30 , which it also crosses shortly before its mouth. It finally flows a few kilometers southeast of Artigas and about two kilometers downstream from Paso Ferrayen as a left tributary into the Río Cuareim .
