The Arroyo Carrasco , also Arroyo de Carrasco , is a river in the area of ​​the departments Canelones and Montevideo in southern Uruguay .

The left tributary of the Río de la Plata flows in a north-south direction and serves as the border between the departments of Montevideo and Canelones . It finally flows into the Río de la Plata in the east of the state capital Montevideo at Barra de Carrasco . Shortly before its mouth it is crossed by the Puente Carrasco .

The cities of Toledo , Suárez , Barros Blancos , Colonia Nicolich and Paso Carrasco are within its catchment area . In addition, the Arroyo Manga and Arroyo Toledo rivers , the Cañada de Chacarita , the wetlands of Carrasco and the Aeropuerto Internacional can be assigned to this region. The population within this area is around 200,000. The river suffers from severe pollution.
