Colonia Nicolich is a place in Uruguay in the Canelones department .

geography

Colonia Nicolich is located 23 km northeast of the state capital Montevideo and 10 km northwest of the coast of the Río de la Plata . Nearby is the international airport of Montevideo in the identically named place Aeropuerto Internacional de Carrasco . To the northwest, the Arroyo de Carrasco forms the border to the adjoining area of the Department of Montevideo .

There has been an important Mennonite settlement here since the middle of the 20th century .

With the Liceo de Colonia Nicolich founded in 1992, Colonia Nicolich has a secondary school ( Liceo ).

The Parque Martinelli is centrally located in Colonia Nicolich .

The Route 101 and Route 102 pass through Colonia Nicolich and meet in the eastern part of the village.
