The Arroyo del General is a small river in the south of Uruguay .

The river, which runs in the area of the department of Colonia , has its source southwest of Estanzuela . From there it flows mainly in a south-westerly direction through the Cuchilla Riachuelo and flows into the Arroyo de la Caballada as a left-hand tributary on the northern edge of the city of Colonia del Sacramento .
