Arsacius
There is no reliable information about the life of St. Arsacius or Arsatius . According to legend, he was bishop of Milan and possibly a martyr or confessor who is said to have lived either around 400 or in the 6th century. According to another tradition, St. Ambrose is said to have been his teacher and predecessor as bishop. But it could also have been an Arsacius of Nicomedia .
His relics were transferred from Rome to the Ilmmünster monastery in 766 , where his veneration grew and the church of St. Arsatius is dedicated to him to this day . In 1495 they were transferred to Munich , but in 1846 they were transferred back to Ilmmünster. His feast day is November 12th.
