Artboden is an art exhibition of works of international modern art. It has been held annually in various cities in Germany since 2013 . Its initiator and curator is the painter Dmitrij Schurbin.

history

Dmitrij Schurbin originally had the idea of ​​starting a series of exhibitions under the name "ART Line". This should be held directly in the urban space, similar to an exhibition in Moscow on Arbat Street or comparable art projects on Charles Bridge in Prague . These considerations resulted in the idea of ​​the art exhibition "Art floor", which is held in places where one would initially not assume any point of contact with art. For example, the Art floor exhibition took place in a department store building in 2013 , in a fashion store in 2014 and in a business academy building in 2015.

The exhibition took place for the first time from May 4th to 26th, 2013 in Wolfenbüttel . 42 artists from Germany and Europe took part. 350 exhibits were exhibited on an area of ​​3000 m 2 . The exhibition had around 10,000 visitors. In 2014 the exhibition was also held in Wolfenbüttel. Over the year 2015, several individual exhibitions were held in the Rowland & Kutschera gallery in Berlin under the name “Artboden” .

From April 1st to June 24th, 2016 Artetto was a guest in Braunschweig . Works by 42 artists were exhibited on the premises of the WelfenAkademie.

Artist selection

A group of experts led by Dmitrij Schurbin will select the participants for the next exhibition from around 300 inquiries per year. The central criteria for the selection are the artistic idea, its accessibility for the viewer and the professionalism in the execution. In addition to artists from Germany, the participants also include artists from France, Spain, Poland, Russia, China, Great Britain, Morocco, Australia and the USA.
