Arthur Altenberg

George Eugen Arthur Altenberg (born August 15, 1862 in Königsberg in Prussia , † March 26, 1926 in Memel ) was a German politician .

Life

Altenberg began a judicial career in Königsberg before he became a paid city councilor and city treasurer in Memel in 1891 . From 1894 to 1918 he was First Lord Mayor of Memel and also represented the city in the Prussian manor house . Altenberg was state president of the Memel region from February 17, 1920 to May 5, 1921 . He then took on positions in business as director of the Memeler Waggonfabrik and chairman of the supervisory board of Memeler Zellulose AG.
