Arthur Charles Davy Pain

Arthur Charles Davy Pain (born June 23, 1901 , † 1971 in Devon , England ) was a British gemologist and mineralogist .

Pain went to Radley College near Abingdon and was in Oxford from 1922 . He discovered the very rare mineral painite in Myanmar in 1952, which is named after him. The Natural History Museum now owns his legacies of precious stones .
