Arthur Dion Hanna

Arthur Dion "AD" Hanna (born March 7, 1928 ) was the Governor General of the Bahamas from 2006 to 2010 .

Hanna has been politically committed to the Bahamas since the 1950s . As a member of the Progressive Liberal Party , he represented the constituency of Ann's Town in the lower house of Parliament from 1960 to 1992. During this period he also held various cabinet positions, including as deputy prime minister from 1967 until he resigned in 1984 after allegations of corruption.

On February 1, 2006, Hanna was named the seventh Governor General of the Bahamas.
