Paul Adderley

Paul Lawrence Adderley (born August 15, 1928 in Nassau , Bahamas, † September 19, 2012 ) was a politician in the Bahamas .

biography

Adderley was appointed foreign minister and attorney general in his government by Prime Minister Lynden O. Pindling after the sovereignty of the Bahamas from Great Britain on July 10, 1973 . In 1984 he was followed by Clement T. Maynard as Foreign Minister. As part of a government reshuffle, he resigned as Attorney General in 1989, but was Treasury Secretary from 1990 until the end of Pindling's tenure on August 21, 1992.

Most recently, he succeeded Dame Ivy Dumont from December 1, 2005 until Arthur Dion Hanna took office on February 1, 2006, acting Governor General of the Bahamas .
