Ivy Dumont
Dame Ivy Leona Dumont DCMG (born October 2, 1930 in Roses , Long Island ) is a former Governor General of the Bahamas . She assumed this position on January 1, 2002 (provisionally on November 13, 2001) as the first woman and held it until November 30, 2005.
Before that she was temporarily a member of the House of Assembly as well as Minister for Education and Youth, Sport and Culture.
