Arthur Hanse

Arthur Hanse (born February 10, 1993 in Paris , France ) is a ski racer starting for Portugal .

biography

Hanse was born as the child of Portuguese emigrants in France and first started for the French ski association. With a view to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he moved to Portugal in autumn 2013. Before the Olympics, Hanse had not taken part in any high-level competitions such as the Ski World Cup or the European Cup; it only competed in FIS races and other low-level races. The best result in an FIS race was a 34th place.

In Sochi, Arthur Hanse formed the Portuguese Olympic team together with the skier Camile Dias , and Hanse was the flag bearer at the opening ceremony. He started in the giant slalom as well as in the slalom, he could not finish both races. In giant slalom he failed in the second round, in slalom he already failed in round one.

After the Olympics, Hanse took part in the Junior Ski World Championships and reached 44th place in slalom.
