The Durbach Sculpture Park is located on the southwestern edge of the municipality of Durbach in the Ortenau district in Baden-Württemberg . Its extensive area lies south of the Staufenburg Clinic and extends to the west to the Museum of Contemporary Art - Hurrle Collection .

Development and description of the project

At the international sculpture symposia in 1984, 1986, 1989, 1996 and 1999, the majority of the 73 works were created by 65 sculptors from 22 countries. A few works were created outside of the symposia. The artists used predominantly white marble from Carrara as well as red sandstone and granite. The stone work is complemented by wood sculptures, metal work and sculptures that have been walled up.

The initiator of the sculpture park is Rüdiger Hurrle. He founded the association: “Kunst am Weg e. V. “, who takes care of the preservation and maintenance of the works and is their owner.

The sculpture park is freely accessible at all times.
