Life

Arthur Heinrich Schulze was born as the son of the painter Arthur Schulze in Oberlungwitz (brother agricultural scientist Eberhard Schulze , cousin actor Günter Junghans ). After completing his training, he first worked in his father's company and then studied theater painting at the technical college of the art college in Dresden. After graduating, he took up a job with the German TV broadcaster , but after some time switched to the Puppet Theater in Berlin as a studio manager. From 1982 he took on the same function with the equipment and performance obligation at the puppet theater of the "Bühnen der Stadt Zwickau". In 1991 he was appointed its director and continued this activity in the merged Theater Plauen-Zwickau . He retired in January 2010.

Heinrich Schulze, known in Zwickau, Plauen and the surrounding area as "Puppenschulze", has set up a large number of pieces, composed it himself (including "The Blood Court of Zwickau anno 1407") and also played it himself. Since 1987, 650,000 people have attended the puppet theater. He was a member of the board of the UNIMA BRD e. V. ( Union Internationale de la Marionnette ). Above all, plays for children have always been important to him in order to arouse enthusiasm for the theater. Heinrich Schulze has also come out with humorous, often subtle poems. The Plauen-Zwickau Theater made him an honorary member in 2009.
