Arthur Oehme

Arthur Oehme (born May 26, 1885 in Weißenborn / Erzgeb. , † May 4, 1965 in Munich ) was a German painter , draftsman , illustrator and porcelain painter and should not be confused with the painter Johannes Arthur Oehme . Arthur Oehme mainly painted flower still lifes and animal motifs, illustrated children's books and worked for the porcelain manufactory Nymphenburg from 1910 to 1932 .

Act

Arthur Oehme initially worked as a freelance porcelain painter in Dresden. The Porzellanmanufaktur Nymphenburg looked after him with the execution of individual orders. From September 15, 1910 to June 30, 1932 he was permanently employed in Nymphenburg and was responsible for the serial execution of his brother Hugo Oehme's decors .

Arthur Oehme was represented in 1997 at the special exhibition "The Porcelain Manufactory in the 20th Century" in the Munich City Museum .
