Arthur Rauth

Arthur Rauth (born November 15, 1922 in Hohenems ; † March 29, 2016 in Bregenz ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and managing director. From 1974 to 1979 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Rauth attended the elementary school in Bregenz and then changed to the high school in Bregenz, where he completed the lower school. As a result, he continued his education at the Bregenz Commercial Academy , where he also passed the Matura . From 1941 Rauth was in military service during the Second World War. After returning from the war in 1945, he worked in the cultural department of the Vorarlberg state government between 1945 and 1946 , after which he worked in a tax office until 1947. In 1947 he became a partner in a trading company and became managing director of the international advertising company (IWG) and the company Ankünder.

Politics and functions

Rauth belonged to the Austrian People's Party and was a member of the Austrian Economic Association , where he held the function of secretary and chairman of the local organization in Bregenz. Within the People's Party, he was a member of the city party leadership of the ÖVP Bregenz, he was also a member of the district party leadership of the ÖVP Bregenz and, during his time as a member of the state parliament, also a member of the state party leadership of the ÖVP Vorarlberg. As a member of the Bregenz constituency , he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from November 4, 1974 to November 5, 1979, where he was also a member of the Economic Committee, a member of the Emergency Committee and deputy chairman of the Culture Committee.

In addition to his political functions, he was also involved as a board member of the central organization of the war victims' associations in Vienna and was chairman of the Bregenz local association of the Vorarlberg war victims association. In addition, he was a member of the Chamber of Commerce apprentice examination committee and deputy chairman of the board of Sparkasse Bregenz.

Private

Rauth was the son of the businessman Alfons Rauth, whereby his father came from Tyrol . He was married and had two daughters and two sons between 1953 and 1962.
