Arthur Ulrich

Arthur Ulrich (born May 8, 1882 in Cassel ; † November 18, 1958 in Bremen ) was a German lawyer and syndic of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce .

biography

Ulrich was the son of the mill director of the same name, Arthur Ulrich. He graduated from high school and studied law and economics at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau , the University of Berlin and the University of Göttingen from 1900 to 1903 . After completing his legal traineeship and military service, he became an assessor and then an employee at the state insurance institute in Hanover , the city administration of Hanover - Linden and the Prussian justice administration.

In 1913 he became Syndicus of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . He was a soldier in the First World War from 1914 to 1917 and studied natural sciences from 1917 after being wounded in the war. In 1919 the Bremen Chamber of Commerce elected him to be their syndic . He was increasingly responsible for traffic issues. He became a member of the German People's Party (DVP) around 1919 and was a member of the Bremen citizenship from 1920 to 1933 . Here, too, he devoted himself to traffic, trade and port problems. After the Chamber of Commerce was included in the Weser-Ems Gauwirtschaftskammer in Bremen in 1943, he became its general manager. In 1945 he was 1. Syndicus of the Chamber of Commerce and he campaigned for the surrender of Bremen without a fight at the end of the Second World War . In 1951 he retired.
